TELLING STORIES THROUGH FILM

WHO I AM

I'm a filmmaker from Karachi, Pakistan, based in the USA. I grew up surrounded by stories that never made it to screen, and that's what pushed me toward cinema. My short documentary Surfers of Silver Linings took me back to one of Karachi's islands where, through interviews with its people and children, I tried to give voice to lives full of struggle and quiet determination. The film won the Best Documentary Award at the National Amateur Short Film Festival 2022, but more than any recognition, it reinforced what I have always believed: the most powerful stories are hiding in plain sight, in the city that made me.

MY APPROACH

I’ve always been more interested in people than in cameras. The gear, the training, and the technique all exist to serve the story and the person at its center. I handle projects from concept to execution across formats and cultures, and I bring the same level of attention to a 30-second reel as I do to a full-length documentary.
